Fill in the fields, watch the invoice take shape live, and download it as a PDF. Every mandatory field under §14 UStG is covered, and the small-business (§19) and reverse-charge (§13b) cases are one click away. No account, no email address, no watermark.
No account, no email address, no watermark. Fill it in, download the PDF, done.
You see the exact template that ends up in the PDF — not just a table of numbers.
Fields for tax number, service period and VAT per rate — plus §19 and §13b at the flip of a switch.
Street, postcode and city, country — one per line.
One of the two numbers is mandatory (§14 UStG).
Mandatory for reverse charge — the tax liability moves to the client.
No VAT, plus the §19 UStG exemption note on the invoice. In Austria the basis is §6 (1) 27 UStG — add that wording in the notes field.
For cross-border B2B services in the EU: no VAT, plus the reverse-charge note and both VAT IDs on the invoice.
No account, no email address, no watermark. What you type stays in your browser — it is sent to our server once to render the PDF and is not stored there.
Billy writes, sends and chases invoices automatically: sequential numbering, saved clients, recurring invoices, and an AI assistant that creates the invoice from a single sentence.
An invoice is not free text: VAT law prescribes what has to be on it. These five steps produce a complete invoice you can send to your client right away.
Add the name and full address of both the issuer and the recipient. Include your tax number or your VAT ID — one of the two is mandatory.
The invoice number must be unique and sequential. Add the issue date and, if it differs, the date or period of supply.
Describe each service or delivery with quantity and unit price. The net amount, the VAT per rate and the gross total are calculated for you.
By default the invoice shows VAT. For the small-business scheme (§19 UStG) or reverse charge (§13b UStG) you switch VAT off — the matching note appears on the invoice automatically.
Check the live preview and download the invoice as a PDF. No signup, no watermark. Keep the invoice for ten years, as the retention period requires.
If a mandatory field is missing, your client cannot deduct input VAT — and in the worst case the invoice comes back to you. These details belong on every invoice (simplified rules apply to small amounts up to €250):

If you use the small-business scheme you may not show VAT and must state the exemption. Legal basis: §19 UStG in Germany, §6 (1) 27 UStG in Austria. In return, you cannot deduct input VAT.
For B2B services to businesses elsewhere in the EU, the tax liability transfers to the recipient. The invoice shows no VAT but carries the reverse-charge note and the VAT IDs of both parties.

No. The generator runs in your browser. Your input is sent to our server once to render the PDF file and is not stored there.
The template contains every mandatory field under §14 UStG (Germany) and §11 UStG (Austria) — provided you fill the fields in completely. If special rules apply to your case, such as an exemption or a specific description of services, have it checked by a tax adviser.
Switch on the "small business" option. The invoice then shows no VAT and carries the exemption note under §19 UStG. In Austria the legal basis is §6 (1) 27 UStG — you can add that wording in the notes field.
Switch on the "reverse charge" option. The invoice then shows no VAT and carries the note that the tax liability transfers to the recipient. Important: both your VAT ID and your client’s must appear on the invoice.
The number must be unique and may only be issued once. A sequential scheme such as 2026-001, 2026-002 is customary and permitted; avoid gaps so the numbering stays verifiable.
The generator stores nothing — once you leave the page, your input is gone. If you want to reuse invoices, save clients or continue invoice numbers automatically, you need invoicing software like Billy.
Invoices are subject to retention rules: generally ten years in Germany and seven years in Austria. Store the PDF somewhere you will find it again.
Note: This page provides general information and is not a substitute for tax or legal advice. Rules and thresholds can change; the laws currently in force govern.
